Dave Slaughter

Dave Slaughter is an American-born drummer from Dallas, Texas. Raised in a musically diverse and supportive home, Dave's musical journey began early, with exposure to a wide range of music genres. He started studying piano at age 6, then took up flute at age 9.

At 14, Dave got his first drum kit and began teaching himself, playing by ear and mastering a wide range of rock and metal songs. Within a year, he joined friends to perform at house parties and local venues, building his stage presence.

By 18, Dave was performing at premier rock venues in and around Dallas, opening for national acts and gaining invaluable experience as a live drummer. Around this time, he first entered the studio to record demos for his band, sparking a long-term interest in studio work.

Now, in 2024, at age 52, Dave's nearly 40-year career spans extensive label recordings and international tours with Bigiron, Lance Lopez, Divine Eve, and Dead Scene Believers, among others.

Currently, Dave is actively playing and supporting new material from Mouth of Cronus and Dallas legends Sanxion. He remains in demand as a rock, metal, and blues drummer. Later in 2024, he will record new material for Mouth of Cronus with legendary Pantera engineer and producer Sterling Winfield, while continuing to perform regularly, both locally and regionally.
